A nutria (Myocastor coypus) waits for food in Bad Vilbel, just outside Frankfurt, Feb.18, where it lives with other family members around the moat of the town’s ancient castle ruin. These animals are originally native to South America, but have been introduced to Europe and other parts of the world, mainly by fur ranchers. -
