Little sculptures of pandas on Frankfurt’s Opera Square, Sep.2, during a campain by nature conservation organization WWF. A total of 1,600 papier-mache pandas were on display, the equivalent of the small number of giant pandas still living in the wild.

Resting with a Wolverine
Biologist Marion Ebel rests together with artic wolfverine Ayla at a wildlife park in Hanau, east of Frankfurt, Aug.3. Ayla was badly injured at the neck in territorial fights with fellow wolves inside their enclosure a couple of days ago. Her brother (named Scott) is still in critical condition.
