Cologne Wandering
Walked through Cologne today (Feb.23), Germany’s fourth largest and one the oldest cities in the country. The cathedral ( ‘Dom’) is its most famous monument. Construction began in 1248 and was only completed in 1880.

In the Role of Anne Frank

German actress Mala Emde stands in front of a poster showing herself in the role Anne Frank during a photo call following a first screening of the docudrama “Meine Tochter Anne Frank” (My Daughter Anne Frank) at Hesssicher Rundfunk, the regional public broadcaster, in Frankfurt, Feb.9.
Anne Frank was born in Frankfurt in 1929 and died at the concentration camp of Bergen Belsen in 1945.
She later became one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust after he wartime diary “The Diary of a Young Girl” (origianlly written in Dutch) was published.

Limburg in black and white
Walked through Limburg, a town some 70 kms (42 mls) northwest of Frankfurt, after completing a job there. I somehow felt it was a day for black and white. (Dec. 09)
