The Cathedral

The Cathedral

Frankfurt’s cathedral, constructed between 1250 and 1514, is seen on Oct. 24 behind buildings of which most were built after 1945. From 1562 to 1792 the cathedral, in German ‘Dom’, was the site where German emperors were crowned.

Mellow Riesling grapes wait for harvest at the Lohrberg vineyard in the northeast of the city, Oct.6. Frankfurt is one of the few major German cities to have a vineyard within its city limits.
