The disused quarry with its abundance of fossils was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site almost 20 years ago.

Global Darkening

Fresh and older contrails spread over the otherwise blue sky over Frankfurt, Aug.15, contributing to what is called ‘Global Darkening’. According to scientists, our planet has not only been getting warmer, but also darker. Over the past decades the quantity of sunlight that is reaching the earth’s surface might have reduced by 20 percent due to air pollution and aerosols.
