Bernhard Krönung inspects a 17th century putto, made of cast lead, at his workshop near Fulda, about a one-hour drive east of Frankfurt. Krönung is said to be one of the most accomplished masters in the restoration of metal artworks in the country.

Old City Hall
The half-timbered old city hall of Fulda, some 100 kms (60 mls) east of Frankfurt, behind stone statues of Saint Benedict (left) and Saint Boniface, Sep.19. While the city hall is almost 500 years old, the ancient-looking statues in front of it are a mere four years old.
