Kids from a local primary school and a kindergarten carry their lanterns during a St. Martin’s procession in Frankfurt, Nov.11. Processions like this one take place each year mainly in the catholic areas of Germany and other countries. November 11 is the feast day of St. Martin of Tours (France), who started out as a Roman soldier and later became a monk. In one legend about his life he once cut his cloak in half and shared it with a beggar during a snowstorm.
