For over 40 years she has been selling stoneware, Black Forest clocks (in the background), “Bembels”, the city’s typical mugs with clay handles used for cider, and garden gnomes. By the way, I learned that garden or lawn gnomes as we know them appeared first in Germany in the mid 1800s.
