Celtic Museum

celticmuseum
The Glauburg museum, some 35 kms (21 mls) northeast of Frankfurt, the center of an archaeological park on the site of a Celtic settlement dating back to the 5th century BC (Photo taken Aug.4). The museum was opened in 2009, a few years after the spectacular excavation of a sandstone statue of the so-called ‘Celtic Prince’ that is on display inside.
Stupidly, I forgot that the museum is closed on Mondays…

Hiking along River Mosel

Hiking along River Mosel

The loop of river Mosel near the village of Bremm (bottom right) in the southwest of Germany, May 29. The photo was taken from a hiking trail along the Calmont that is considered one of the steepest vineyards in the world. Wine growing in the Mosel region dates back to Roman times.
