Thistles grow on the grandstand of the Boellenfalltor soccer stadium in Darmstadt, south of Frankfurt, July 10. Despite the stadium’s run-down state the local soccer club Darmstadt 98 made it into Germany’s second league, or 2. Bundesliga.
